January 4, 2025-Second ranked Washburn hit 80 percent of their shots inside the three-point line on the way to a 105-77 win over Emporia State in White Auditorium. The win snapped a four game winning streak in the series by the Hornets.

The Ichabods scored the first four points of the game and got out to a 13-3 lead at the first media timeout. An
Arhman Lewis three-pointer got the Hornets within five at 17-12 with 12:33 left in the half. A 13-3 run gave WU a 30-15 lead with 9:13 remaining in the period. A
Dallas Bear three-pointer made it 52-39 with 1:39 left but Washburn scored the final four points to take a 56-39 lead into the half.

A 12-1 run early in the second half gave the Ichabods a 28 point lead with 14:49 left. The lead would reach 33 points at the midway point of the second half before settling into the 105-77 final.

Malike Edwards scored 13 points while
Dallas Bear added 12 off the bench and
Brayson Laube had ten points.Â
Karyiek Dixon led all rebounders with seven while
Arhman Lewis dished four assists.

Emporia State will be back in action on Thursday, January 9 when they travel to Fort Hays State. Tip-off in Gross Coliseum in Hays, Kan. is set for 7:30 p.m.
