Emporia State Women's Tennis picks up ten wins on Friday

September 6, 2024-The Emporia State women split four doubles matches and won eight singles matches on Friday at the Rumble by the River IV tennis tournament in Tahlequah, Okla.

Paige Stranghoner and Anastasia Pesic were both undefeated on the day for the Hornets. Stranghoner won her doubles match with Andrea Santiago and picking up two singles wins while Pesic teamed with Sheriden Wichman to win at doubles while winning her only singles match on Friday.

In addition to their doubles wins Santiago and Wichman split their two singles matches. 

Giovanna Ferreira, Keira Knoflicek and Yuliya Klimova each won singles matches for Emporia State as well. Three of the Hornets losses came in third set tie breakers.

The Hornets will return to action on Saturday morning at the NSU Tennis Complex.
