Ten wins for Emporia State at ITA Men's Regionals on Friday

September 27, 2024-The Emporia State men's tennis team came away with ten wins on Friday at the ITA Men's Regional in Topeka.
 
Anton Sarunic won two matches in the main draw of singles to advance to round of 16 on Saturday.  Alexis Mattenberger, Roko Kacer and Mostafa Elbasnaly all won their first round matches in the main draw before falling in the second round. Sarunic and Kacer teamed up to win in the first round of the main draw of doubles as well.
 
After dropping their first round matches, Santiago Torres and Diego Calvo each won their first consolation match to advance to Saturday.
 
Jan Engel picked up a win in the first round of the B draw in singles before falling in the round of 16.  Harris Kossover and Diego Calvo teamed up to win their first round match in the doubles B draw.
 
Action continues at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka, Kan.
