September 20, 2024-Emporia State won seven of 15 matches on the first day of the women's ITA Central Regionals in Edmond, Okla.
 
Yuliya Klimova and Paige Stranghoner each won their first round singles matches in Flight B before falling in the second round. 
 
Stranghoner and Lilie Bizouerne won their first round match in flight B doubles. They will play in the round of 16 starting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Bizouerne, Giovanna Ferreira and Perla Conde Vendrell all advanced to the round of 16 in the consolation bracket of Flight A and will play beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday at Edmond Center Court. Sheriden Wichman advanced to the round of 16 in the Flight A consolation round and is scheduled to play at 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
 
The doubles teams of Conde Vendrell and Klimova along with Ferreira and Wichman will compete in the consolation round starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Edmond Center Court.
