Hornets held early 7-0 lead; fall 10-7 against Tigers on Sunday afternoon

Patryk Hernandez drove in the first run with an RBI double before Joe Daneff homered for the seventh time this season to drive in three runs and give the Hornets a 7-0 lead.

The Tigers responded with four runs in the bottom of the third and after a scoreless fourth inning for both teams, Fort Hays State scored one in the fifth and four more in the sixth as they rallied to take a 9-7 lead. Emporia State drew two-out walks in both the seventh and eighth inning but were held without a run. Fort Hays State scraped together a run in the bottom of the eight as the Hornets entered the ninth trailing 10-7.
