Box Score February 15, 2024-The Emporia State men's tennis team opened the home portion of their schedule with a 6-1 win over Ottawa on Thursday at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.
 
The Hornets got out in front early with a 6-2 win at #2 doubles by Anton Sarunic and Diego Calvo.  The Braves evened things up with a 7-6 (8-6) win at #1 before Harrison Brown and Harris Kossover secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win.
 
Sergio Vera Martin used a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #2 singles to put the Hornets up 2-0.  Emporia State took a 3-0 lead with a 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-8) win at #1 By Anton Sarunic. The Braves picked up their first point with a win at #4 before Mostafa Elbansy clinched the win with a come from behind 2-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-8) win at #3 singles.  Brown and Kossover grabbed the final points for Emporia State with a 6-1, 6-3 win at #5 by Brown followed by a come from behind 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) win at #6 by Kossover..
 
The Hornets will be back in action on Saturday, February 17 when both the men and women travel to North Kansas City, Mo. to take on Rockhurst.  First serve from the Northland Racquet Club is set for 5:30 p.m.
