March 31, 2023-The Emporia State women cruised to a 4-1 win over a shorthanded McPherson on Friday afternoon at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex.

The Hornets took the doubles point with 6-2 wins by
Alexia Desmet and
Karen Santiago at #1 and
Caroline Henry and
Andrea Santiago at #2.

With only five players available for McPherson, Emporia State started doubles with a 2-0 lead.
Anastasia Pesic won 6-0, 6-0 at  #3 singles to make it 3-0.  Desmet fell 6-1, 6-3 at #1 singles to make it 3-1 before
Karen Santiago clinched the dual with a 6-2, 6-2 win at #2 singles.Â
Paige Stranghoner was leading 6-0, 5-1 when the decision was clinched.

Emporia State is back in action on Tuesday, April 4 when both the men and women travel to Northwest Missouri. First serve from the Grube Courts at the Rosewell Tennis Complex in Maryville, Mo. is set for 2:00 p.m.
