LET'S GET THINGS STARTED
The Emporia State men's and women's tennis teams will both make their official spring debuts this week with non-conference matches against Bethel at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.

LAST SETS
The Hornet men took a 4-3 exhibition win over Pratt CC on Friday, February 3 at the Kossover Complex. Emporia State took two of the three doubles matches and then split the singles play to earn the victory.
This will be the first outside competition of the spring for the Emporia State women.
THE COACH
Former Hornet CeCe Peyroche is currently guiding the Hornets following the retirement of coach Les Stafford in December. Peyroche was 23-15 in singles play during her three years as a Hornet before moving into the graduate assistant position last year. Â
A LOOK AT THE HORNETS
The 2023 MIAA Women's and MIAA/GAC Men's Tennis Preseason Polls have been announced and the Hornet men are picked to finish fourth in the North Division while the Hornet are picked eighth overall.
The Hornet men went 5-10 during the 2022 season with a 1-3 record in North Division play. They return four players who played double-digit matches last season.
The Hornet women went 7-13 during the 2022 season with a 2-6 record in MIAA action as they finished seventh in the regular season to qualify for the MIAA Championship Tournament. They return four players who saw action in at least 16 matches last season.
ABOUT THE THRESHERS
The Bethel women are 2-0 having won two matches in the fall season.
The Thresher men are 1-1 after splitting two matches last fall.
NEXT SERVE
The Emporia State men and women will travel to Springfield, Mo. this weekend for a pair of matches against Harding and Drury. The Hornets will take on the Bisons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night before playing the host Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Center in Springfield.
