Women fall 6-1, men drop 7-0 decision

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 February 11, 2023-The Emporia State tennis teams suffered their first defeats of the season on Saturday in Springfield, Mo.  The Hornet men fell 7-0 while the Emporia State women lost 6-1.
 
Angelina Gnezdilova and Alexia Desmet picked up a win at #1 doubles for Emporia State but Harding at #2 and #3 as the Bisons took the first point.  After falling at #6 singles, the Hornets got their first point when Paige Stranghoner won 6-2, 6-3 at #5 singles.  Harding then won the next four singles matches to take the dual 6-1.
 
The Hornet men did not win a match against the Bisons. Harding took all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.  Dominik Simunovic did go to a ten point tiebreaker at #1 singles before falling 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-2..
 
Emporia State is back in action on Sunday when they take on Drury.  First serve from the Cooper Tennis Center is set for 11:00 a.m.
