ROAD TRIP CONTINUES
Emporia State remains on the road for matches against Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hornets pushed #10 Nebraska-Kearney to four sets behind 33 kills from Sandora Sasaki.

THE COACHES
Ken Murczek is 11-11 in his first season at ESU. Murczek is coming off great success at NAIA Oregon Tech where he brought the Owls to their first National Tournament in school history. Murczek is no stranger to the big stage, as he has coached at the NCAA Division I level, with head coaching tenures at Wake Forest and North Texas, along with an assistant coaching position at the University of Kansas.
Jessica Fey is 16-7 in her first season at MWSU. She is 1-0 against the Hornets.
Amy Woerth is 197-132 in her 11th season at NWMSU. She is 13-4 against the Hornets.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 11-11 this season and 5-9 in the MIAA. As a team, Emporia State ranks sixth in the MIAA in hitting percentage. and seventh in total kills and blocks this season. The Hornet attack is led by Sandora Sasaki who has 381 kills with 4.82 kills per set. Sasaki is coming off her third MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week honor and leads the MIAA in both categories. McKenya Sorrells also has nearly two kills per set with 139 total kills and 1.93 per set. Brailee Bogle has made a strong impact in her first season with the Hornets as she has 737 assists with 9.33 assists per set which ranks fifth in the MIAA this season.

SCOUTING MISSOURI WESTERN
The Griffons are 16-7 on the season and 9-5 in the MIAA as they are currently fourth in the MIAA. Holly Heldt and Taylor Russell lead the Griffons in attack as they both have over 200 kills and average more than three kills per set. 

LAST TIME VS. THE GRIFFONS
The Hornets fell in three sets earlier this season against the Griffons behind a match-high 14 kills by Sandora Sasaki.

SERIES HISTORY
Missouri Western leads the all-time series 49-45 over Emporia State.

SCOUTING NORTHWEST MISSOURI
Northwest Missouri is 12-10 on the season and 7-7 in the MIAA as they are currently sixth in the standings. Abby Brunssen leads the Bearcats in total kills with 195 kills while Avery Kemp has 182 of her own while posting a team-high average of 2.56 kills per set.

Emporia State leads the all-time series 43-24 over Northwest Missouri.

LAST TIME VS. THE BEARCATS
Emporia State hosted Northwest Missouri earlier this season and took the Bearcats to five sets. Sandora Sasaki and Zuzanna Buchnajzer each recorded double-digit kills  with 14 and 13 respectively.
