Emporia State women wrap up fall tennis schedule at Washburn Invitational

October 25, 2023-Emporia State wrapped up the fall portion of the tennis schedule at the Washburn Invitational on Sunday in Topeka.

Caroline Henry and Giovanna Ferreira each picked up wins in singles and doubles on the court on Sunday for the Emporia State women. Ferreira defeated Marina Magai of Rockhurst 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 1-0 (10-3) in singles play and teamed with Anastasia Pesic to defeat Magai and Eleanor Coleman 8-5 in doubles play.  Henry won 6-3, 6-3 over Rockhurst's Cecilia Ulrich and then teamed with Andrea Santiago Sanchez to defeat Ulrich and Andrea Dabbah 6-4 in doubles play.
 
This was the final scheduled competition for the fall. Emporia State will be putting on a free clinic for the general public on Sunday, October 29 at Emporia State's Kossover Family Tennis Complex. The clinic will run from 1-4 pm and will include some instruction, tennis drills, and fun match play where participants pair up with the ESU tennis players for doubles play.
