April 29, 2022-Emporia State saw their season come to an end with a 4-0 loss to #54 Washburn in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament in Edmond, Okla.
The Ichabods got out to an early lead by winning 6-1 at #1 and 6-2 at #3 to take the doubles point.
Washburn then took wins at #2, #3 and #5 singles to clinch the dual and advance to the MIAA Semifinals.
The Hornets end the season at 7-13 overall with a 5-5 record in the new Kossover Family Tennis Complex. They are set to return four of the six players that competed at the MIAA Championships along with three other players that saw action this season.
