Box Score 2 March 5, 2022-The Emporia State men and women both fell to MSU-Denver on Saturday at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex. The Hornet women fell 7-0 while the men went down 5-2.
The ESU team of
Paige Stranghoner and
Anastasia Pesic picked up the only win for the Hornet women. They picked up a 7-6 win at #2 doubles but MSU-Denver won the other two to get the point.
Emporia State's me led 1-0 after doubles.
Theo Belmonte and
Sergio Vera got things started with a 6-4 win at #1 as
Harrison Brown and
Luiz Maia won 7-5 at #2 to secure the doubles point. The Roadrunners won five of six singles matches to capture the dual. Vera had the lone win for ESU in singles as he defeated Andy Caruana 6-1, 6-3 at #5.
Both the Hornet men and women will be back in action on March 11 when they take their first road trip of the season to Southwestern College. First serve in Winfield, Kan. is set for 1:00 p.m.
