February 8, 2022-The Hornets saw their three days at the Edmond First Pitch Classic end in a 9-0 loss to Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday.

The Hornets had runners in each of the first two innings but a pick off and a double play erased any scoring threats. The Bison broke through with three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-0 lead.

TJ Racherbaumer doubled and
Joe Daneff walked for the Hornets in the top of the sixth but two line outs to the outfield ended the threat. OBU then added two runs in the bottom of the frame to go up 5-0.

Isiah Lissade hit a three run homer in the bottom of the eighth and Ramon Gomez followed with a solo shot to give the Bison a 9-0 lead.

TJ Racherbaumer went two for three with two doubles while
Sam Chaput was two for three with two singles for the Hornets.Â
Jared Kengott went the first 3.1 innings and struck out seven while allowing three runs on five hits.

Emporia State is scheduled to make their home debut on Friday, February 11 when they play host to Colorado State-Pueblo in the first game of a four game series at the Trusler Sports Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Â
