December 29, 2022-Three Lady Hornets recorded career highs as Emporia State wrapped up non-conference play with a 98-58 win over Bethel on Thursday evening in White Auditorium.

Maary Lakes scored 21 seconds into the game and the Lady Hornets would never trail, taking a 17-4 lead on
Stevie Stinchcomb fast break layup with 3:47 left in the first quarter. The Threshers ended the period on an 8-4 run of their own to trail 21-12 headed to the second quarter.

Bethel cut the lead to seven at 23-16 with 8:56 left in the second quarter but
Kylee Scheer hit a three-pointer with 8:16 left to put the lead back to double digits. A 9-0 run capped by a
Faith Paramore three-pointer gave the Lady Hornets a 42-23 lead with 2:00 left before the Threshers scored the final four points of the half.

A 16-4 run midway through the third quarter gave Emporia State a 61-36 lead with 2:45 left in the period and they took a 66-42 lead into the fourth quarter. The Lady Hornets took a 40 point lead on an
Elizabeth Milligan three-pointer to cap a 10-0 run with 3:53 left in the game. The teams would play even the rest of the way as Emporia State cruised to the 98-58 victory.

Tre'Zure Jobe led all scorers with 24 points on nine of 13 shooting with four steals.
Faith Paramore tied her career high with 20 points and had a team high six rebounds.Â
Kylee Scheer reached double figures with a career high 13 points
Elizabeth Milligan also hit a career high with eight points.
Victoria Price added nine points with five steals. The Lady Hornets forced 31 turnovers with 22 steals resulting in 37 points off turnovers for the game.

The Lady Hornets, now 9-2 on the season, return to MIAA action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Newman. Tip-off from Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita is set for 1:30 p.m.
