April 25, 2021-The Emporia State women's tennis team ended their season on a winning note with a 6-1 victory over Fort Hays State to finish the season with an 8-8 overall record.

The Hornets rolled through the doubles competition, dropping just six games through the three matches.Â
Viktoria Mackova and
Colby Fugit won 6-1 at #3 doubles followed by a 6-2 win by Silvana Caceras and
Kelsie Burr at #1 while
Karen Santiago Sanchez and
Cyrielle Peyroche finishing things with a 6-3 win at #2 doubles.

After falling at #6 to open singles play, Emporia State rattled off five straight set wins to take the victory. Burr won 6-0, 6-2 at #5, Mackova won 6-2, 6-2 at #3, and Santiago Sanchez clinched the dual with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #2 singles. Caceras won 6-3, 6-3 at #4 before Peyroche finished the dual with a 7-6, 6-4 win at #1 singles.

The Hornets end the season 8-8 overall.
