FINAL COUNTDOWN
Fresh off their I-35 road trip, the Hornets will head down to the Four States region this weekend for their final road trip of the season. They will take on Missouri Southern Friday evening in Joplin, Mo. before taking on Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kan. on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State traveled to Newman and Central Oklahoma where they first fell in three sets to the Jets. They traveled further down I-35 the next day to take on the Bronchos. The Hornets took the first set from the fifth place Bronchos before eventually falling in four sets.
THE COACHES
Bing Xu is in his 16th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 292-209 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances. He is 22-3 against Missouri Southern and 20-12 against Pittsburg State.
Kallie Mader is 19-65 in her fourth season at Missouri Southern. She is 1-3 against Emporia State.
Jen Gomez is in her fifth year at Pittsburg State and has a 58-88 record. She is 4-5 against Emporia State.

In the previous matchup earlier this season, Emporia State played host to Missouri Southern. The Hornets were able to take down the Lions in four sets and capture their first MIAA victory of the season.

LAST TIME VS. THE GORILLAS
In the previous matchup, the Hornets played host to the Gorillas in White Auditorium. In the first set, the Hornets held a 15-13 lead over the Gorillas before Pittsburg State responded to take the set 25-21. The following two sets would be similar between the two teams with Pittsburg State able to edge out Emporia State in each set taking the match 3-0.

The Hornets will return to White Auditorium to begin their final home stand of the season. Emporia State will host William Jewell on Tuesday, November 9. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
