THREE IN FOUR
Emporia State will complete their lengthy home stand with three matches in four days against Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern and Fort Hays State.
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State was swept by Newman in their previous match last weekend. After falling in a highly competitive first set, the Hornets were unable to respond and fell in three sets to the Jets.
THE COACHES
Bing Xu is in his 16th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 290-201 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances. He is 20-11 against Pitt State, 21-3 against Missouri Southern and 24-8 against Fort Hays State.
Jen Gomez is 54-82 in her fifth year at Pittsburg State. She is 3-5 against Emporia State.
Kallie Mader is 19-54 in her fourth year at Mo. Southern. She is 1-2 against Emporia State.
Jessica Wood-Atkins is 23-50 in her third year at Fort Hays State. She is 3-2 against Emporia State.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State has started the season 2-11 and are still looking to capture their first conference victory of the season.
Shelby Ebert leads the way in attack for the Hornets with 104 kills.
Orianna Clements has added 77 kills for the Hornets.
Dorianne Lebron has emerged in the middle for the Hornets with 79 kills while also having 10 solo blocks and 36 total in defense. Riley Fornelli leads Emporia State with 261 digs on the season.

The Gorillas have started the season 9-5 with a 3-3 start in the MIAA. Last week they defeated Newman in three sets before falling in four sets to nationally ranked Central Missouri.
