EMPORIA STATE MEN'S TENNIS SWEEPS FRIENDS

Box Score March 5, 2020-The Emporia State men's tennis team swept Friends 7-0 on Thursday in Wichita, Kan. With the win the Hornets improve to 2-1 on the season.
 
The #1 doubles team of Anton Levanovich and Luiz Maia won 6-3 while Andy Graf and Harrison Brown picked up a 6-2 win at #2 doubles.  Cameron Kienholz and Theo Belmonte had the closest match, winning 7-5 at #3 doubles.
 
Belmonte got the Hornets started in singles play, winning 6-0, 6-0 at #4 followed by Graf with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #3 singles.  Maia, who was announced as the MIAA-GAC North Division Player of the Week today, won 6-3, 6-2 at #1 to clinch the match.  Brown followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #2 singles while Levanovich and Keinholz won at #5 and #6 singles to wrap up the dual.
 
Emporia State will be back in action on Saturday when both the men and women play host to Ottawa on the EHS Courts. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
