February 29, 2020-The Emporia State men's and women's tennis teams opened the spring portion of their schedule with a pair of wins over William Jewell.
The Hornet women took advantage of a depleted Cardinal roster with only four players available for WJC.Â
Shannen Meyer and
Silvana Caceres won at #1 doubles while
Viktoria Mackova and
Kelsie Burr won at #2 and the Hornets picked up a forfeit win at #3.
Jessica Purdy picked up the win at #1 singles,
Viktoria Mackova won at #2,
Cyrielle Peyroche won at #3 and Karen Santiago Sanches won at #4 as Emporia State won by forfeit at #5 and #6.

The men won all three doubles match to secure the point before heading into singles play.
Anton Levanovich and Luis Maia won at #1,
Andy Graf and
Harrison Brown won at #2 while
Theo Belmonte and Cameron Keinholz won at #3.
Emporia State got wins from Luis Maia at #1,
Andy Graf at #3,
Theo Belmonte at #4,
Anton Levanovich at #5 and Cameron Keinholz at #6. The lone loss was
Harrison Brown at #2.

The next action for Emporia State will be the men playing Friends on Thursday in Wichita with the women not playing again until next Saturday when both teams play host to Ottawa.
