February 29, 2020-Playing their final game at White Auditorium, the Lady Hornets three seniors all scored in double figures as Emporia State posted a 97-69 victory over Rogers State to finish the season undefeated at home.
 
The Lady Hornets jumped out to an 11-2 lead and never trailed in the contest.  The Hillcats pulled within 22-18 with 8:23 left in the second quarter but Emporia State responded with a 10-1 run to push the lead back 13 points.  The lead would grow to 16 points at 37-21 with 4:16 left when Rogers State went on a 9-2 run to get back into single digits at 39-30 with under a minute left.  
Daley Handy scored, was fouled and hit the and one at the buzzer to give the Lady Hornets a 42-30 lead at the break.
 
Emporia State put the game away by scoring the first 16 points of the second half to take a 58-30 lead with 6:47 left in the third quarter.  Rogers State used a 16-6 run to cut the deficit to 17 points with 32 seconds left in the quarter but that would be as close as they would get.
 
Tre'Zure Jobe led Emporia State with 20 points as all five Lady Hornet starters reached double figures.  
Mollie Mounsey had 18 points and a career high eight assists while 
Daley Handy had a career high 15 points and led Emporia State with seven rebounds.  
Jessica Wayne and 
Morgan Laudan each scored 13 points in their final game at White Auditorium.
 
With the win and a loss by Neb.-Kearney, the Lady Hornets finished the regular season all alone in second place in the MIAA.  The will be the second seed in the MIAA Tournament and will play on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. against either Central Oklahoma or Northwest Missouri.

Jessica Wayne has now scored 1,032 points and passed Kristie Nelson-Lackey (1,028 points from 1986-90) for 29
th on the Lady Hornet all-time scoring list.  She is just three points from tying 
Kathryn Flott (1,035 points from 2011-2, 2015-17) for 28
th on the list.
Mollie Mounsey has hit 83 three-point field goals this season and is just three away from tying 
Emily Miller (86 3FGM in 2018-19) for fifth on the Lady Hornets single season list.
Tre'Zure Jobe now has 91 assists and moved past Deena Holloway (87 in 1998-99) and Melissa Church (87 in 1991-92) into fourth on the Lady Hornets freshman assist list.
The Lady Hornets finished the season 15-0 at White Auditorium – the sixth undefeated season in Lady Hornet history.  Their 16 game home court winning streak is the sixth longest in school history.
