The Hornets opened the scoring on a drive by
Keyon Thomas, but the Blue Tigers went on a 15-5 run to go up 15-7 at the first media timeout. Back to back three pointers from Thomas and
Duncan Fort pulled Emporia State back within 15-13 but that was as close as they would get the rest of the night.

Lincoln was up 36-19 with 5:07 left in the half when Emporia State went on a 9-2 run and Turner's layup pulled the Hornets within ten with 2:32 left. Marcel Burton hit a three pointer with 42 seconds left as the Blue Tigers took a 45-32 lead to the locker room.

A 10-0 run in the second half gave Lincoln their biggest lead of the night at 63-39 with 12:33 left. A 7-0 run trimmed the deficit to 76-62 with 3:56 remaining and the lead fluctuated between 14 and 18 the rest of the night.

Jumah'Ri Turner had a game high 25 points and was joined in double figures by
Justin Williams with 13 points.Â

The Hornets are back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Pittsburg State. Tip-off in White Auditorium is set for 7:30 p.m.
