January 18, 2020- Neb.-Kearney hit ten of 14 three-pointers after halftime on the way to a season high 60 second half points in an 85-58 win over Emporia State on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets jumped out to a 19-11 in the first half as freshmen scored 15 of the points for Emporia State.
Gage McGuire's three pointer gave the Hornets an eight point lead with 7:38 left but the Lopers would go on an 11-0 run to take a 22-19 lead with 3:31 remaining.Â
Devin Rottweiler broke the run with a bucket inside and the Hornets went to the locker room trailing 25-23.

Keyon Thomas old fashioned three-point play with 18:00 remaining got the Hornets within 27-26. The Lopers then hit their next 11 shots as they went on a 25-9 run to take a 52-37 lead with 11:43 left. Emporia State was still within 15 points with 8:07 left when
Zac Owens scored to make it 58-43. UNK then went on a 13-0 run to take complete control as they led 71-43 with 5:26 remaining. The lead fluctuated between 25 and 29 the rest of the night before the Lopers finished up with an 85-58 victory.

Neb.-Kearney, who entered the game shooting 35.4% from the three point line, shot 65.7% from the field and 71.4% from beyond the three-point arc in the second half.

Gage McGuire led Emporia State with a career high 16 points and was joined in double figures by
Zac Owens with 11 points.Â
Mason Thiessen had a team high eight rebounds to go with six points.

Emporia State is back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Newman. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 7:30 p.m.
