November 14, 2019-Emporia State had nine steals and six blocks while holding Tabor to .357 shooting in an 82-51 win over the Bluejays on Thursday night at White Auditorium.

Tabor jumped out to a 6-2 lead 1:41 into the game. The Hornets then went on a 14-2 run capped by a
Brenden Van Dyke fast break dunk to take a 16-8 lead with 11:44 left in the first half. Tabor cut the lead to 23-18 with 6:21 left.
Keyon Thomas hit a free throw to jump start a 9-1 run and
Gage McGuire's three-pointer with 3:00 left to give the Hornets a 32-19 lead. The two teams played even the rest of the half as Emporia State took a 39-26 lead to the locker room.

The lead dropped to ten points at 46-36 with 15:47 left in the game. Thomas and Van Dyke connected on a fast break alley oop to ignite an 11-2 run and put the Hornets up 57-38 with 9:44 remaining. Emporia State would use a 12-2 run out of the final media timeout to push the lead to 80-48 with 1:48 left before settling for the 82-51 win.

Van Dyke led the Hornets with 14 points and five rebounds as ten players scored at least five points.
Jumah'Ri Turner had 12 points and five rebounds while
Devin Rottweiler scored ten points. Thomas had seven assists.

The Hornets will return to White Auditorium on Monday night to take on Sterling College. Tip-off from Slaymaker Court is set for 6:30 p.m.
