January 31, 2019- The Lady Hornets rolled to an 83-63 win over Lindenwood in White Auditorium on Thursday. Four players scored in double digits to propel the Lady Hornets past the Lions.

Jessica Wayne knocked down the first bucket of the game just six seconds in to give the Lady Hornets a 3-0 lead. The Lions tied the game at 6-6 with a three before Tyra Jones answered with a three of her own to give the Lady Hornets the lead indefinitely. The Lady Hornets would end the first quarter on a 7-2 run over the final 3:08 to take a 28-17 lead at the break.

With 8:55 on the clock, a three pointer from Jones gave the Lady Hornets their largest lead of the half at 33-17. The Lions cut the Lady Hornets lead to 38-29 with 5:43 remaining in the first half, but a 7-0 mini-run capped by a free-throw from Jessica Wayne put the Lady Hornets back up 15 with 2:28 on the clock. With 0:10 left in the half, Jones checked in and scored with two ticks on the clock to give the Lady Hornets a 48-32 lead at the half.

Emily Miller opened scoring quickly for the Lady Hornets with a jumper just nine seconds in to the third quarter. With 7:26 on the clock, a three from Addie Lackey would put the Lady Hornets up 57-32, capping off a 13-0 run that stretched back into the second quarter. After back-and-forth play, the Lady Hornets carried a 70-48 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Hornets took their largest lead of the game at 78-48 with 7:34 remaining before the Lions used a 9-0 run to cut the lead to 78-57 with 4:01 left. Brittany Kramer extended the Lady Hornets lead to 83-58 with 1:47 left on the clock. The Lions closed out the game on a 5-0 run for the Lady Hornets to take the game 83-63.

The Lady Hornets outshot the Lions 42.3% to 33.9% but were outshot 38.5% to 36.7% from three point range. Jessica Wayne led the Lady Hornets with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight steals. Emily Miller followed close behind with 20 points while Tyra Jones added 17. Addie Lackey rounded out double digit scoring for the Lady Hornets with 10 points.

Emporia State will be back in action on Saturday, February 2 as the Lady Hornets play host to Lincoln. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in White Auditorium.
