THE SOONER STATE
Emporia State travels to Oklahoma to compete in the MIAA/GAC Challenge against East Central, Oklahoma Baptist, Ark. Tech and Southeastern Oklahoma State.
THE COACHES
Bing Xu is in his 14th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 269-157 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances.
Melissa Anderson is in her third year as head coach for East Central.
Anna Howle is in her 11th year as head coach at Oklahoma Baptist.
Kara Dukic is in his first year as head coach at Arkansas Tech.
Brianna Barry is in his fifth year as head coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 2-6 to start the season. The Hornets come into the MIAA/GAC Challenge after a big win over #6 Rockhurst in the Rockhurst Classic. They are led by senior Tatum Graves with 85 kills followed by Jamie Hauptman with 78. Emma Dixon leads the Hornets with 176 assists while Allie Maloney leads with 127 digs.
ABOUT EAST CENTRAL
East Central is 0-9, 0-1 in the Great American Conference to start the season. The Tigers are led by Karina Erreguin with 85 kills, Sydney Dungen with 164 assists, Abbey Wehrman with 129 digs and Kellie Smith with 21 total blocks. This will be the sixth meeting between ESU and ECU with the Hornets leading the all-time series 5-0. Â
ABOUT OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
Oklahoma Baptist is 4-6, 1-0 in the GAC to start the season. The Bison are led by Malia Leatherland with 104 kills followed by Mikayla Watson with 90. Jenna Gremmel leads the Bison with 298 assists while Delayna Mills leads with 144 digs. This is the eighth meeting between ESU and OBU. The Hornets lead the all-time series 4-3.

ABOUT ARKANSAS TECH
Arkansas Tech is 4-4, 1-0 in the GAC to start the season. The Golden Suns are led by Hunter Eshnaur with 68 kills 122 digs while Amanda Milnick leads with 238 assists. Kristy Bayer, former head coach accepted a position with Emporia State at the close of the 2017 season and is now the Deputy Director of Athletics after a successful coaching career at Ark. Tech. ATU leads the all-time series 5-1 over the Hornets.
ABOUT SOUTHEASTERN OKLA. STATE
Southeastern Oklahoma State is 3-5 to start the season. Abby Jameson leads the Savage Storm with 87 kills followed by Arianna Baker with 68. Sydney Meget leads with 198 assists while Caitlin Cosby leads the team with 148 digs. This will be the fifth meeting between Emporia State and SEOSU. The Hornets lead the all-time series 4-0 over the Savage Storm.
