A WEEKEND IN MISSOURI
Emporia State will spend the weekend in Missouri as they take on #13 Central Missouri on Friday and Lindenwood on Saturday.
THE COACHES
Bing Xu is in his 14th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 273-160 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances.
Flip Piontek is in his 10th year as head coach at Central Missouri.

LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State fell 3-1 on Tuesday to #21 ranked Washburn in the first Turnpike Tussle meeting of the 2018 season. The Hornets forced the Ichabods into a fourth set for just the fifth time this season. The Hornets were led by Yuchen Du with a triple-double of 10-14-12. Tatum Graves joined Du in double digit kills with ten while the Hornets had four players with double digit digs. Allie Maloney had a team high 18 digs while Jordan Evans had 13, Du had 12 and Taylor Otting had 11.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 6-9 this season, 1-2 in the MIAA. Senior Tatum Graves leads the Hornets with 56 blocks including 10 solo and 46 assists. Graves also leads with 170 kills while Yuchen Du joins her in triple digit kills for the Hornets with 118 followed by Jamie Hauptman with 111 and Taylor Otting with 102. Emma Dixon leads the Hornets with 343 assists followed by Du with 181. Allie Maloney leads the Hornets with 253 digs while Taylor Otting adds 175 and Julia Joseph adds 134.
ABOUT #13 CENTRAL MISSOURI
The Jennies are 11-3 on the season, 2-1 in the MIAA. Audrey Fisher leads the Jennies with 176 kills followed by Kylie Hohlen with 156 and Hannah VanBuskirk with 125. Hanna Engelken leads the Jennies with 56 total blocks. Ally Offerdahl leads with 549 assists while Abby Skrastins leads with 248 digs. Â

Emporia State volleyball fell in straight sets to #19 Central Missouri (26-24, 25-12, 28-26). The Hornets were led by Jordan Evans with nine kills while Yuchen Du recorded a double-double with seven kills, 25 assists and 11 digs. Julia Joseph joined her in double digits with 11 digs. The Jennies lead the all-time series 51-6 over the Hornets.
ABOUT LINDENWOOD
The Lions are 8-5 on the season, 0-3 in the MIAA. Alexa Pressley leads the Lions with 119 kills, joined in triple digits by Bailey Dvorak with 113 and Sadie Koscluk with 103. Setter, Allyson Clancy leads the team with 433 assists while libero, Sara Wagenknecht leads with 165 digs.

Emporia State volleyball fell Sunday in straight sets to Lindenwood (25-20, 25-20, 25-20). The Hornets were led by Mikayla Simons with eight kills and Yuchen Du with 24 assists. The Hornets lead the all-time series 6-2 over the Lions.

The Hornets will continue their road trip as they travel to Pittsburg, KS to take on Pittsburg State on Sept. 28. The Hornets wrap up the weekend in Edmond, Ok. as they face #16 Central Oklahoma on Sept. 29.
