March 31, 2018- Emporia State women's tennis fell 9-0 on Saturday to #5 Northeastern State.
The Hornets began doubles play down 1-0 after having to forfeit #3 doubles with only four players. Kaley Clark and Sarah Durham were defeated 8-3 by #37 karla Tomaic and Mayra Jovic in #1 doubles while Silvana Caceres and Shannen Meyer fell 8-3 to Tatjana Stoll and Easton Parker in #2 doubles.
In singles play, Kaley Clark fell 6-0, 6-0 to #5 Tatjana Stoll in #1 singles while Sarah Durham fell 6-1, 6-3 to Mayra Jovic in #2 singles. Silvana Caceres fell to #41 Molly Worden 6-1, 6-0 in #3 singles while Shannen Meyer fell 6-2, 6-2 to Betka Gombarova in #4 singles. Having only four players the Hornets were forced to forfeit #5 and 6 singles due to playing with four players.
The Hornets will be back in action April 7 as they travel to Topeka, Kan. to take on Washburn.
