ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Emporia State heads to Missouri for the weekend as the Hornets take on Southwest Baptist on Friday and Missouri Southern on Saturday.

Bing Xu is in his 14th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 275-163 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hornets used a 7-1 run to jump out to a 15-9 lead in set one. The Hornets took set one 25-15 to take the 1-0 match lead. In set two, the Hornets jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and held off the Jets attack for the remainder of the set. Leading 16-9, the Hornets sparked an 8-0 run on the way to win set two 25-12 to take the 2-0 match lead. The Hornets scored first in the third set and only allowed the Jets to tie the set once at 1-1 before using a 3-0 run to take the lead 4-1. The Hornets held the lead through the remainder of the set on their way to a 25-14 set win to finish the match.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 8-12 this season, 2-5 in the MIAA. Senior Tatum Graves leads the Hornets with 77 blocks including 12 solo and 65 assists. Graves also leads with 226 kills while Yuchen Du joins her in triple digit kills with 166 followed by Taylor Otting with 154 and Jamie Hauptman with 111. Emma Dixon leads the Hornets with 449 assists followed by Du with 235. Allie Maloney leads the Hornets with 345 digs. Â

The Bearcats are 4-16 on the season, 0-7 in the MIAA. Greysen Roster leads the Bearcts with 148 kills followed by Delanie Tipton with 125 and Sam Ibarra with 78. The Bearcats are led by Makenzie Bouse with 518 assists while Bailey Baumann leads with 273 digs.

The Hornets defeated the Bearcats 3-1 in White Auditorium. The Hornets were led by Tatum Graves with 16 kills followed by Yuchen Du with 9 and Jamie Hauptman with 8. Emma Dixon led all players with 27 assists while Du added 17. Allie Maloney led all players with 17 digs followed by Julia Joseph with 12.
ABOUT MISSOURI SOUTHERN
The Lions are 2-15 on the season, 2-5 in the MIAA. Janelle Brehm leads the Lions with 154 kills followed by Shaylon Sharp with 106 and Alicia Pickett. The Lions are led by Kylee Kaaihue with 333 assists followed by Morgan Nash with 143 and 194 digs.
