HOME STRETCH
Emporia State finishes the 2018 regular season with their final two home games. The Hornets host Pittsburg State on Friday, Nov. 2 before wrapping up the weekend against #17 Central Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 3.
THE COACHES
Bing Xu is in his 14th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 279-168 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances.
Jen Gomez is in her third season as head coach at Pittsburg State.
Edgar Miraku is in his seventh season as head coach at Central Oklahoma.
LAST TIME OUT
On Saturday, Emporia State fell in straight sets to Lindenwood. The Hornets were led by Taylor Otting with seven kills followed by Yuchen Du with six and Tatum Graves with five. Emma dixon led the Hornets with 19 assists while Allie Maloney led all players with 18 digs.
On Sunday, the Hornets pushed #15 Central Missouri to five sets before falling 3-2 in the match. The Hornets had three players record a double-double led by Taylor Otting with 20 kills and 23 digs. Jordan Evans recorded 18 kills and 16 digs while Emma Dixon had 58 assists and 21 digs. Allie Maloney led all players with 34 digs.

Emporia State is 12-17 this season, 6-10 in the MIAA. Senior Tatum Graves leads the Hornets with 110 total blocks. Graves also leads with 304 kills while Taylor Otting joins her in triple digit kills with 270 followed by Yuchen Du with 180, Jamie Hauptman with 139 and Jordan Evans with 136. Emma Dixon leads the Hornets with 732 assists followed by Du with 242. Allie Maloney leads the Hornets with 534 digs on the season.

Pittsburg State is 18-11 on the season, 7-9 in the MIAA. The Gorillas are led by Lauren Regier with 325 kills followed by Meg Auten with 218 and Emily Regier with 199. Camryn Blanton leads the Gorillas with 623 assists while Brianna Richard adds 433. Lauren Dunn leads the team with 436 digs on the season.

The Hornets fell 3-2 to the Gorillas in Pittsburg, Kan. The Hornets were led by Yuchen Du with a double-double of 15 kills and 19 assists. Emporia State fell in straight sets to the Bronchos in Edmond, Okla. The Hornets were led by Tatum Graves with six kills while Valerie Golder and Julia Joseph each added five. Emma Dixon had a team high 13 assists and Allie Maloney led all players with 22 digs. The Bronchos lead the all-time series 14-10 over the Hornets.

Emporia State is currently in a three way tie with Missouri Western and Lindenwood for seventh in the MIAA standings. The Hornets could finish as high as sixth and will face a higher seed in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.
