SOONER STATE CHALLENGE
Emporia State travels south this weekend for matches against four of the Oklahoma GAC schools as part of the MIAA-GAC Challenge.

LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State went 3-1 in the SBU Invitational. On Friday the Hornets won matches against Adams State (3-1) and Southwest Baptist (3-0). On Saturday the Hornets won their first match of the day 3-2 against Oklahoma Baptist and lost their second match in straight sets against Fort Lewis.

THE COACHES
Bing Xu is 256-138 in his 13th year as head coach for Emporia State. He has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournaments.
Brianna Barry is 43-59 in her fourth year at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Josh Collins is 73-94 in his sixth year at Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Melissa Anderson is 3-4 in her first year at East Central.
Anna Howle is 257-105 in her tenth year at Oklahoma Baptist.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 4-4 on the season after traveling to Bolivar, Mo where they finished the weekend 3-1. Yuchen Du, who has recorded two triple doubles this year, leads the Hornets with 119 kills, followed by Tatum Graves with 62 and Jamie Hauptman with 61. Emma Dixon leads the Hornets in assists with 177 followed by Du with 130. Allie Maloney is leading Emporia State with 77 digs followed by Du with 62 and Dixon with 60. Valerie Golder leads the Hornets with 28 total blocks followed by Du with 27 and Graves with 25.

JUST DU IT
Yuchen Du was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week after averaged 4.80 kills, 5.33 assists, 2.40 digs, and 0.67 blocks per set and hit .417 last weekend for the Hornets. She leads the nation in triple doubles and ranks 20th in Division II in total kills and points per set. Du leads the MIAA in total kills, ranks second in kills per set and is fourth in hitting percentage on the season.

ABOUT SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA
Southeastern Oklahoma State is 3-5 on the season. The Storm are led by Abby Jameson with 84 kills and Arianna Baker with 81 kills. Caitlin Cosby leads the team in digs with 136.

ABOUT SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA
Southwestern Oklahoma State is 3-5 on the season. The Bulldogs are in hitting by Danusia Sipa Borgeau with 91 kills. Kaitlyn Dillon leads the team in digs with 156.

ABOUT EAST CENTRAL
East Central is 3-4 on the season. The Tigers are led in hitting by Alex Campbell with 51 kills and Diana Etienne with 45 kills. Lily Porsa leads the team in digs with 116.

ABOUT OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
Oklahoma Baptist is 3-5 on the season. The Lady Bison are led in kills by freshman Mikayla Watson with 97 and Malia Leatherland with 83.

NEXT SERVE
Emporia State opens MIAA play on September 22 at Ft. Hays State. First serve in Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan. is set for 6:00 p.m.
