April 12, 2017-The Emporia State tennis teams were swept at Northwest Missouri on Wednesday afternoon in Maryville, Mo. 

Both teams were able to get a win in doubles.  The men's team of Matheus Mota and Lukas Winkler won 9-7 at #1 doubles while the women's #1 team of Tawni Griffey and Camila Ramos won 8-2.

Griffey then gave the Emporia State women their other point with a 6-1, 6-4 win at #1 singles.

The next action for both teams will come at the MIAA Tournament in Lincoln, Neb. The Emporia State women are seeded seventh and will play second seeded Southwest Baptist at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18.  The Hornet men are seeded fourth and will get a rematch with top seeded Northwest Missouri on Wednesday, April 19 at 8:00 a.m.
