EMPORIA STATE WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO #20 NORTHEASTERN STATE

Second straight top 20 opponnent for the Hornets

April 1, 2017-Playing their second top 20 opponent in as many days, the Emporia State women took two singles matches from #20 Northeastern State in a 7-2 loss on Saturday at the Milton Courts in the Kossover Tennis Complex.

The Hornets trailed 3-0 after doubles, despite two very tight matches at #2 and #3.  Kaley Clark and Sarah Durham fell 9-7 at #2 doubles while Amy Fugit and Talia Walsh went to a tiebreaker before falling 9-8 (7-1) at #3 doubles.

Emporia State got their first win of the day from Durham at #2 singles who led Valeriia Efimenko 4-1 in the first set before Efimenko withdrew with an injury.  Camila Ramos got the other victory for the Hornets at #4 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Easton Parker.

The Hornets are scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday, April 4 in men's and women's action against Rockhurst.  First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. at the EHS Courts.
