March 22, 2017-Playing their fourth match in five days in their fourth city, the Emporia State men's and women's teams both snapped two dual losing streaks with a pair of MIAA wins at Lindenwood. The Hornet men won 7-2 while the women took a 6-3 decision.
The Emporia State women took two of three double matches with wins by Tawni Griffey and Camila Ramos taking an 8-5 win at #1 while Kaley Clark and Sarah Durham won 8-3 at the #2 spot. The Hornets won the first four singles spots to clinch the win and even their MIAA mark at 2-2.
The Hornet men swept the doubles competition and then won at #3-6 in singles as they improved to 2-1 in the MIAA.
Both teams get a bit of a break after their long Spring Break trip. The women play Missouri Western on Monday, March 27 on the Milton Courts at the Kossover Tennis Complex before both teams play host to Mo.-St. Louis on Wednesday, March 29 at the EHS Courts.
