March 17, 2017-The Emporia State women bounced back from a loss to Neb.-Kearney on Thursday to post an 8-1 win over Ft. Hays State on Friday afternoon at the Milton Courts in the Kossover Tennis Complex.
The Hornets swept the doubles matches getting wins at #1 by Tawni Griffey and Camila Ramos, at #2 by Sarah Duham and Tahlia Walsh and at #3 by Amy Fugit and Lori Ahuja.
Griffey, Walsh, Ramos and Ahuja all picked up straight set victories in singles at #1, #3, #4 and #6 respectively. Durham won in a third set tiebreaker at #2 while Fugit suffered the only loss in three sets at #5 singles.
The Hornets are back in action on Saturday when both the men and women travel to Joplin, Mo. to take on Ark.-Ft. Smith in a pair of neutral site matches.
