HORNET MEN'S TENNIS GETS ROAD WIN TO IMPROVE TO 5-0

Emporia State gets 7-2 win at Bethany

March 1, 2017-The Emporia State men went to Lindsborg, Kan. on Wednesday afternoon and came home with a 7-2 win over the Bethany Swedes.
 
The teams split the first two doubles matches with Paddy Cameron and Gerard Pont taking an 8-1 win at #1 while Lukas Wingler and Diego Vargas fell 8-5 at #3.  Anton Levanovich and Oli Dixon gave the Hornets a 2-1 lead heading to singles with an 8-5 win at #3 doubles.
 
Emporia State won five of six singles matches to secure the win.  Pont, Dixon and Levanovich won at #1, #2 and #6 singles to clinch the win.  Farhan Sadique picked up a win at #5 before Winkler lost at the #4 position.  Cameron took a three set win at #3, winning 13-11 in the tiebreak to finish the dual.
 
Both the Emporia State men and women will play host to Truman on Saturday afternoon at the EHS Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
