LADY HORNETS FALL 93-72 AT LINDENWOOD

Emporia State surrenders 90 points in regulation for first time since 1999

December 18, 2017-Emporia State gave up the most points in a game since the 2010 as they fell 93-72 at Lindenwood on Monday evening.
 
The Lady Hornets trailed 10-4 midway through the first quarter but ended the period on a 16-7 run to take a 20-17 lead after the first ten minutes. The Lions retook the lead in the second and were up by six at 28-22 with 6:26 left in the half. Emporia State came back with an 8-2 run and tied the game at 30 on a Kali Martin three-pointer with 3:28 left in the half.  Emily Miller retied the game at 37 with 53 seconds left but Lindsay Medlen was fouled with 2.4 seconds left on a three-pointer and converted all three to give Lindenwood a 40-37 lead at the break.
 
The Lions used a 9-4 run to take their first double digit lead at 57-47 with 5:07 left and then went on a 10-2 run to take a 67-49 lead with 4:06 left in the period. In the quarter Lindenwood would outscore Emporia State 31-19 as they took a 71-56 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
The lead would reach 24 points with 1:46 when the Lions took a 90-66 lead and became the first team to score 90 on the Lady Hornets since Emporia State defeated Gannon 97-94 in overtime in the 2010 Final Four.
 
Tyra Jones led Emporia State with 17 points and ten rebounds.  She was joined in double figures by Kali Martin with a career high 13 points and Morgan Laudan with 11 points.
 
The Lady Hornets are off until December 30 when they play host to Pittsburg State
