December 16, 2017- Emporia State wins 77-75 on the road over Lincoln.

First Half
The Hornets came out firing in the first half, scoring on their first two possessions. Much of the half was back and forth until the Hornets were able to build their ten point lead which they took into halftime. The Hornets largest lead of the half was at 1:07 left when a Garin Vandiver layup gave them a 38-27 lead.

Second Half
The second half started off the same for the Hornets with two scores on consecutive possessions to extend their lead to 15 just a minute into the half. The Blue Tigers fought back into the game and eventually took the lead with 7:36 remaining in the game. It was a back and forth game from then on with both teams exchanging runs. The Hornets took a four point lead with 20 seconds left on the clock when Brian Morton hit two free throws. With a 77-73 lead the Hornets were able to hold off the final attempt from Lincoln to get the 77-75 win.

The Hornets were led by Brian Morton with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Stephaun Limuel joined him in double digits with 13 points followed by Garin Vandiver with 12. Morton led the Hornets with his 8 rebounds followed by Vandiver with 7 and Limuel with 5.

The Hornets will be back in action on Monday December 18 as they travel to St. Charles, MO. to take on Lindenwood.
