HOME FOR THE WEEKEND
Emporia State returns home for their final two home games of 2017. The Hornets will play host to #7 Nebraska Kearney on Saturday October 28. Then on Sunday October 29 they will face Fort Hays State.
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State fell 3-0 to Washburn (25-20, 25-22, 25-22). The Hornets were led by Karly Patton with 11 kills on .391 hitting while Yuchen Du added six kills on .308 hitting with nine digs and 31 assists. She played primarily setter all night as Emma Dixon missed the match with an injury. Allie Maloney had a team high 15 digs for Emporia State.
THE COACHES
Bing Xu is 265-145 in his 13th year as head coach for Emporia State. He has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournaments. He is 0-10 against Neb. Kearney and 20-2 against Fort Hays State.
Brandi Fairbank is 10-16 in her first year as interim head coach for Fort Hays State.

Emma Dixon leads the Hornets in assists with 516 while Du adds 492. Allie Maloney is leading Emporia State with 372 digs followed by Emma Dixon, Julia Joseph, and Yuchen Du with 203 each. Graves leads the Hornets with 91 total blocks (17 solo, 74 assists) followed by Du with 57, Valerie Golder with 45 and Mikayla Simons with 35.

Nebraska Kearney is 24-2 on the season, 11-1 in the MIAA. The Lopers are led by Tara Ziegelbein with 270 kills. Lindsey Smith leads the Lopers with 952 assists. Ellie McDonnell leads the Lopers with 368 digs followed by Morgan Stute with 252. The Lopers lead the series 36-10 over the Hornets.

Emporia State volleyball fell in straight sets to #5 Nebraska Kearney (26-24, 25-14, 25-20). The Hornets were led by Jordan Evans with 9 kills followed by Yuchen Du with 6 and Karly Patton with 5. Du led the Hornets in assists with 15 while Emma Dixon added 11. Allie Maloney led all players with 19 digs.
ABOUT FORT HAYS STATE
Fort Hays State is 10-13 on the season, 2-10 in the MIAA. The Tigers are led by Kylie Rollman with 260 kills followed by Magan Alexander with 201 and Callie Christensen with 195. Amirah Bentley leads the Tigers with 781 assists while Taylor White leads with 440 digs. The Hornets lead the series 56-29 over the Tigers.

The Hornets beat the Tigers 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 25-13, 25-23). The Hornets were led by Jamie Hauptman with 13 kills, while Karly Patton and Tatum Graves each added 11. Yuchen Du led Emporia State with 25 assists, followed by Emma Dixon with 19. Allie Maloney led the Hornets with 21 digs while Julia Joseph joined her in double digits with 10.
