ON THE ROAD TO TUSSLE
Emporia State will travel to Topeka, Kan. on Tuesday to take on Washburn in the 101st Turnpike Tussle.
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State saw their three match winning streak snapped as they fell in five sets at Missouri Western (17-25, 28-26, 25-20, 22-25, 10-15). Graves led the Hornets with 16 kills on .429 hitting with five aces and two blocks. Yuchen Du also had 16 kills and added 26 assists and five digs. They were joined in double figures by Karly Patton with 12 and Jamie Hauptman with 11 kills. Emma Dixon had a team high 35 assists while Allie Maloney added 22 digs.
Emporia State volleyball fell in straight sets to Northwest Missouri (25-12, 25-23, 25-23). The Hornets were led in hitting by Yuchen Du with 10 kills on .292 hitting percentage followed by Karly Patton with nine. Du also led the Hornets with 19 assists while Emma Dixon added 16. Allie Maloney led all players with 12 digs followed by Julia Joseph with 9 and Du with 7.

Bing Xu is 265-144 in his 13th year as head coach for Emporia State. He has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournaments.
Chris Herron 465-92 in his 16th year as head coach for Washburn. He has led the Ichabods to 13 NCAA Tournaments.

Yuchen Du, who has recorded six triple doubles this year, leads the Hornets with 290 kills, followed by Tatum Graves with 222 and Jamie Hauptman with 198. Emma Dixon leads the Hornets in assists with 516 while Du adds 461. Allie Maloney is leading Emporia State with 357 digs followed by Dixon with 203, Julia Joseph with 200 and Du with 194. Graves leads the Hornets with 89 total blocks (17 solo, 72 assists) followed by Du with 55 and Valerie Golder with 45.

Washburn is 14-9 on the season, 5-6 in the MIAA. The Ichabods are on a two game losing streak coming into this game. The Ichabods are led in hitting by Erica Montgomery with 250 kills followed by Genna Berg with 226 and Makayla Maxwell with 189. Allison Sadler leads Washburn with 703 assists. Faith Rottinghaus leads the Ichabods with 395 digs followed by Jade Hodge. The Ichabods are led in blocks by Makayla Maxwell with 100 total, 18 solo and 81 assists.
SERIES HISTORY-THE TURNPIKE TUSSLE
This will be the 101st volleyball Turnpike Tussle between the Hornets and the Ichabods. Emporia State leads the all-time series 64-36 over Washburn. In the last meeting on September 26, 2017 the Hornets broke a 15 match winning streak by the Ichabods.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE ICHABODS
Emporia State won 3-2 in full sets over Washburn in White Auditorium. The Hornets were led by Yuchen Du with 12 kills, 26 assists and 12 digs. Four Hornets were in double digits in kills led by Karly Patton with 15, Du and Jamie Hauptman with 12 and Tatum Graves with 10. Emma Dixon led the Hornets with 29 assists. Allie Maloney lead all players with 19 digs in the match. She was joined in double digits by Jordan Evans with 18, Emma Dixon with 13 and Du with 12.
