September 4, 2016-Emporia State gave up a second half goal as they fell to defending GAC Champion and conference preseason favorite Harding 1-0 on Sunday in Arkadelphia, Ark.
SCORELESS STRING
Both teams were scoreless through the first half with the Hornets getting one shot on goal while the Bison had two on goal. Emporia State's defense would hold through the 53rd minute as Yadira Rivera ran her scoreless string to 168:22 dating back to last season.Â
ONLY GOAL
Harding scored the games only goal when Carley Stevens header went in off the post at the 52:11 mark. Emporia State would get three more shots to just one for Harding over the final 37:49 but could not find the back of the net.
