March 9, 2016-The Emporia State men's tennis team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 9-0 win over Central (Iowa) College on Wednesday afternoon at the Milton Courts.
DOUBLES
The Hornets made quick work of #3 and #2 doubles Louis Ledin and Lukas Winkler won 8-0 at #3 while Patrick Cameron and Gerard Pont posted an 8-1 win on the #2 court. Â Keenan Smith and Matheus Mota grinded out an 8-6 win at #1 to send the Hornets to singles play up 3-0.
SINGLES
Emporia State cruised through the singles play not dropping a set. Â Smith did not lose a game at #4 with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Â Ledin and Farhan Sadique each lost just one game with Ledin winning 6-0, 6-1 at #3 and Sadique posting a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 singles. Pont took a 6-3, 6-1 win at #2 singles and Matheus picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at #5. Â Cameron had the toughest go, but still won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 at #1 singles.

The Emporia State women open MIAA play on Thursday against Lincoln on the Milton Courts. Â First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. Â Both the men and women will host Colo. State-Pueblo on Friday, March 11 at the EHS Courts starting at 2:00 p.m.
