March 4, 2016-The Emporia State men's tennis team ran their record to 6-0 with a 7-2 win over Friends on Friday afternoon at the Milton Courts.
STARTING OUT
The Hornets took two of three doubles matches for the early lead. Paddy Cameron and Gerard Pont won at #2 doubles 8-1 while Louis Ledin and Lukas Winkler won 8-4 at #3 doubles. Keenan Smith and Matheus Mota just missed a clean sweep falling in a tiebreaker 9-8 (9-7) at #1 doubles.
FINISHING UP
Emporia State won five of six singles matches to take the win. The Hornets won in straight sets at #1, #3, #4, #5 and #6 singles to take the 7-2 victory.
UP NEXT
The Hornets are scheduled to return to action on March 9 against NCAA Division III Central College. First serve at Milton Courts is set for 2:00 p.m.
