EMPORIA STATE WOMEN'S TENNIS TRAVELS TO MISSOURI WESTERN

Hornets looking to even conference record

March 31, 2016-The Emporia State women's tennis team will return to MIAA play on Thursday when they travel to Missouri Western.  The Hornets are 9-6 on the season and are 1-2 in the MIAA while the Griffons are 6-2 overall and also 1-2 in the MIAA.

Tawni Griffey leads the Hornets with an 11-4 record at #1 singles and is 12-3 overall in doubles action.  Kaley Clark is also 11-4 overall with a 6-4 record at #2 singles while going 5-0 combined at the #3 and #4 spots. She is 9-6 in combined doubles play.  Amy Fugit is 11-3 in singles competition with a 5-2 mark at #3 while going 2-1 at #4 and 4-0 at #5 singles.  Lori Ahuja is 9-6 in singles play. She is 2-5 at #4 but was a combined 7-1 at #5 and #6 before injuries forced her into the 4 slot.

After taking on the Griffons, the Hornets will travel to Maryville, Mo. along with the men for duals against Northwest Missouri on April 2.
