March 28, 2016-The Emporia State tennis teams split a double dual with William Jewell on Monday afternoon at the Milton Courts and Hammond Park.  The men won 8-1 while the women fell 7-2.
 
The Hornet men swept the doubles to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.  After giving up a match at #2 singles when Gerard Pont did not play due to an injury, the Hornets swept the remainder of the singles play to take the 8-1 win.
 
Emporia State's women dropped all three doubles matches and faced a 3-0 deficit going into singles.  They got wins from Kaley Clark at #2 and Amy Fugit at #3 singles in the 7-2 loss.
 
The women will head to St. Joseph, Mo. on Thursday for a single dual against Missouri Western before both teams travel to Maryville, Mo. on Saturday to take on Northwest Missouri.
