November 30, 2016-The top ranked Lady Hornets ended November the way they had played all month with a 112-60 victory over Ark.-Fort Smith on Wednesday night in White Auditorium. Kelly Moten tied her career high with 31 points to lead four Lady Hornets in double figures.
Emporia State jumped out to a 14-2 lead on the way to an MIAA record 36 points in the first quarter. The Lady Hornets shot .684 in the opening quarter while holding the Lions to just .250 shooting as they took a 36-13 lead.
Moten had 18 points in the first half as the Lady Hornets led 63-30 at the break. The 63 points were just four shy of the MIAA record for points in a first half.
Emporia State continued the onslaught in the third quarter, outscoring Ark.-Fort Smith 24-12 in the period. They held the Lions to just .176 shooting in the third as the Lady Hornets took an 87-42 lead into the fourth quarter.
With reserves playing most of the last five minutes, Emporia State outscored Ark.-Fort Smith 25-18 in the fourth as the 112-60 final was their largest margin of victory on the night.
Moten had seven assists, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals to go with her 31 points. She was joined in double figures by Addie Lackey with 19 points while Jacee Kramer and Megan Holloway each scored 14 points. It was a career high for Holloway as she went five of six from the field and two of two from behind the three-point line. Tiana Moala added eight points, nine rebounds, five blocks and two steals.
The next action for the #1 Lady Hornets will be on Saturday when they play host to the defending national champions Lubbock Christian. Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for 1:00 p.m.

Moten moved past Stef Quayle (1,420 pts from 1989-93) and Denise Dawson (1,424 pts from 1984-88) into 11th place on the Lady Hornet career scoring list. She is five points from tying Sandy Schrant (1,452 pts from 1979-84) for tenth on the all-time list.
