October 21, 2016-Jaide Allenbrand scored her first goal of the season to give Emporia State a 1-0 win at Northwest Missouri on Friday afternoon in Maryville, Mo. With the win, the Hornets improve to 11-0-1 in their last 12 games when scoring first.
Allenbrand's goal came off a corner kick by Kennedy Hoffman and an assist from Tanna Benefiel in the 37th minute. She put it past the Bearcat keeper from about seven yards out to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
With the win Emporia State improved to 4-4 in the MIAA and into a tie for fifth place in the MIAA heading into Friday night's action. The Hornets will travel to St. Joseph, Mo. on Sunday to take on Missouri Western. The Griffons are one of the teams tied with the Hornets at the moment with 12 points. Kick-off at Spratt Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
