March 31, 2015-The Emporia State men lost to McPherson College in a tightly contested 5-4 dual on Tuesday at the Milton Courts.
The Hornets dropped two fo the three doubles matches after having leads in all three. Andrew Davids and Gerard Pont posted the only Hornet win as they defeated Hugo Ball-Greene and Allen Darmawan 8-1 at #2 doubles. Keenan Smith and Sebastian Heimburger were defeated by Ahmed Lahlou and Fajula Rodriguez in a tie breaker 9-8 (7-3), while Patrick Cameron and Payton Hays fell to Hector Carrillo and Jose Carrillo 9-7.
Smith defeated JM Fajula Rodriguez 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 at #1 singles while Cameron picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at #5 and Farhan Sadique won 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (14-12) at #6 singles. Heimburger and Pont fell in three sets at #2 and #3 while Davids lost 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) at #4 singles.
The Hornets are back in action Saturday, April 4, 2015 when they face Nebraska-Kearney at 10 am in Kearney. Â
