February 7, 2015- The Emporia State baseball team gets its second straight win over Metro State by a score of 13-5. The Hornets recorded six Homeruns in the game, while the Roadrunners had one of their own.
The Hornets got off to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Dean Long and Tory Bell both hit homeruns in the third inning, opening Emporia States lead to 8-0. Long hit a solo bomb again in the eighth inning, right after a 3 run shot by Cody Bobbit. At the end of the eight Emporia State lead 13-2.
Garrett Brummett (1-0) picked up the victory for the Hornets as Mike Thill got the loss for the Roadrunners. Brummett recorded 7 strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work, while only allowing 1 hit.Â
The Hornets out hit the Roadrunner 13-7. Emporia State had 2 errors in the game, while Metro State recorded 4 errors.
The Emporia State Baseball team will conclude their series with Metro State on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at noon.Â
