Box Score Box Score in htmlSeptember 5, 2014-Carly Spicer had 19 kills on .471 hitting with eight digs to lead Emporia State to a sweep of Ohio Valley University to end day one of the UIS Invite in Springfield, Ill. As a team the Hornets hit .297 while holding OVU to just .178 hitting in the 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 win.
Spicer lead all hitters with her 19 kills while Shayla Cotman added eight kills on .467 hitting. Kelly Holden had 14 digs while Kimberly Bell dished 23 assists.
The Hornets will end the tournament on Saturday against the host Prairie Stars.
